If the temp sensor is anything like the one in my brother's Intrepid
(Dodge), then there is a small biscuit type fan that draws air in and
passes it over the temp sensor. This fan is probably very dirty and
causing the noise. Be careful when cleaning the fan/sensor as the sensor
is very delicate.

On my brother's Intrepid, I had to basically tear the front panel off
the passenger side of the dash to get at it.
