V1 Install Using Sunroof/Light Power

After six months of waiting, I have taken delivery of my 99.5 A4 1.8.

Holy! What a car! I won't go into the details about how nice it is... let's
just say I still can't believe this is MY car!

Anyhoo, I hard wired my V1 this weekend. Rather than tapping into the fuse
box and running a wire, I found a hot wire off of the sunroof/dome light
controls and shoved the V1 hard-wire kit into the headliner. It's very clean
and looks great when the detector's not in the car. Photos are currently at

I took a few pictures of the install and typed up the install procedures. If
interested, please email and I'll send them to you.

Though I did the install on my A4, I'm sure the procedure is similar for any
model.

Also, RE: the quattro event in Brainerd, my folks live in Brainerd and have
a spare bed if anyone's in need of a cheap (free) place to crash (sleep,
that is).
