Richard,
You haven't said what your present setup is (I don't recall). Simply having
Euro lights doesn't give you _any_ options that you didn't have
previously--other than use of different wattage H-type bulbs.

The big question is: are your new lights now wired to operate via relays?
If so, then the power source ought to be from the alternator or the jumper
post (both sources are pretty much equivalent and should be equal to a wire
directly from the battery--assuming you're not losing voltage from a
corroded splice inside the car).

If you're not running your lights via relays (i.e, using only the stock
wiring harness), then the answer to your question is: get relays and _then_
hook up to a good power source (e.g. jump post).

BTW, with my new Euros (with relays) I also notice that the low beams,
while improved from DOT, don't give the impression of great brightness. But
more than adequate now. The high beams are great!

As to the absence of corner-marker lamps and safety inspection, I wonder
about that too. I'm taking mine in to be inspected in a couple of days by
my Audi garage, which also does Eurolight upgrades. They don't care. I
doubt that any of the typical safety inspection goons in NY State would
notice.
