]I think the bad thing about solder was the solder itself...
soldering properly heats the surface up and then the
solder is applied. this creates a much deeper bond
between the materials. i think if crimping was superior
then a lot more stuff would be crimped.

for crimping what, exactly? regular plugs and crimps
and things? i use electricians crimpers and have been
for years (i was an electrician for a long while) and
never had any problems.
