RE: modern sub cu ft needs/stereo discussion
There are many subwoofer out now designed for really small, sealed
enclosures. The Thiele-small parameters for these woofers require such an
enclosure. The trade off, however, is a loss in efficiency. I am running
a Vifa 10" 4 ohm woofer in .75 ft3 and it sounds great, but I am also
giving it a clean 200 watts from a PPI. IMO, running huge boxes that take
up trunk space is a thing of the past, and a complete waste considering
what you can do with so little space..how about a 15" in 1.5ft3, you can
barely build the box that small!
