CGT rant continued
I now have another passenger side axle shaft for the 85 CGT from NAPA that is
too _long_. First one was too long, second (way) too short, third too short
(popped the keeper "C" clip on the road), and now- fourth too long. They
obviously don't have the right numbers in their books to deal with this car.
Problem is they have had my original as a core for over 2 weeks (read-long
gone).
When buying the brake discs from the same vendor, they initially provided
rotors that were too small. I took in the original rotors and we physically
matched them up to rotors listed for a 4000 Q. Could this have been a sign
of a "unique only to you" car situation. My wife's Scirroco did that a few
years back. It's CV joints disagreed with all the parts books in town. I am
certain this car is original, and has not been modified. I'm the second
owner.
Anyone have any experience with 4000-CGT parts crossovers (esp. on
suspension/driveline)?
Any help would be appreciated. TIA
Dennis
