Sputtering '92 100S 5spd

I bought my car from a coworker last Fall with 72k miles. At the
time, the engine would sputter/hesitate under more than 1/2
throttle when below 2200rpm. By replacing the spark plugs, fuel
filter, air filter, and oxygen sensors, the problem seemed to have
     gone away.

It's back again, now. The car has 82k miles. I still occasionally
get a Check Engine code of 2411 (EGR). I will begin to look at
these hoses and check for proper connections, but are there any
other possibilities for the hesitation? Like I said, the check
engine light only comes on occasionally, and it doesn't matter
whether the car is hesitating or not when it comes on. Actually,
the light typically comes on during steady cruise at 55mph or so
(usually about 2-3 miles from my house in the morning).

     TIA,
     Karl
