Re: 200 battery cable length

Samir,

I have a 5000TQ which has the seats and interior torn out of it. The
positive cable from the Battery is routed along the floor sill area, then
past the ECU (right front kick panel), and then over to the left and out
the firewall. removing the passenger seat and the door sill plastic trim
will allow pulling up the carpet to get to the cable. The cable measures
about 8-9 feet from the battery to the firewall. Then the cable goes out
into the engine compartment, along the right side frame rail, up to where
the turbo is mounted, (~3ft) and then loops back to the Starter. (~ another
3 ft). Total length including the spliced section in front, looks to be
about 15 feet.

The OEM cable from the battery to the splice is shown to be sized at 25.0
square millimeters, the AWG equivalent is 2 gauge. The cable from the
splice forward is shown to be 16.0 square mm, AWG gauge equivalent 4 gauge.
Using a 2 gauge cable all the way should work fine.
