Re: alignments and the freinds who love them

sounds good to me. I have been experimenting a little on the
Auto-Cross course but still can use advice. Below is what I have found.

>Question 1: How does toe effect handling?

IT dramatically effects turn in response and over/under steer. In
my experience a lot of toe out in back makes it turn in VERY fast but also
makes it understeer and kind of unpredictable as it darts around a bunch.
So I went back to Neutral Rear Toe. NOt sure on the front. I may try Toe
in at the rear to see what happens though.

>2: Is 0 deg of toe the best for tire wear(only) or is there something I
> am not thinking about?

I dont know about the tire wear but I suspect your right.

>3: What should be done differently f/r to optimize balance?

More NEg Camber in the front will induce more oversteer. Not sure
about Toe Changes. I logically thought that Toe in for the Front would be
good to hook up the front and induce more oversteer but someone said that
is wrong which means I need to go dial that out when I change suspensions.
Not sure if they were right though.

>4: What about camber f/r? Should it be done different?

I run about 1 - 1.5 Degree Negative Camber in front and O in the
back. This tends to let the rear break loose a little earlier everything
else being equal. I'm happy with it but I still want to mess with toe
changes.
So, can someone tell us what to do with the Toe. The Camber is
easy to understand but toe is a little more confusing.
Oh, and BTW. Everyone remember that when you change one setting
the other changes aswell. If you just change Toe, you Camber will
naturally shift a little and must be corrected for if you dont want it
changed. Just so everyone is aware.
