Clutch Help - 97 A4

After 3 real runs and 4 fun runs at the autocross in Sacramento
yesterday, I am inching my way up in line to take my last fun run, I
press my clutch pedal, it sinks to the floor and stays there, I can
pull the pedal up manually, but it has no resistance. After pushing
the car off grid, I spend some time trying to find out if something
simply mechanical disengaged. Several of us poke and prodded and
couldn't figure out what to do. I am, of course, several hours away
from home. I call Audi Guarenteed Mobility for a tow (a 30-45 minute
wait). After another 20-30 minutes pass and I decide to see what it
feels like...ah ha resistance! I cancel the tow and drive home. I
still need diagnosis, though.

In been searching the a4.org archives and have seen a couple snippets
of info suggesting that the Hydraulic line / flex line to slave
cylinder runs too close to exhaust manifold. That, coupled with the
83-84 degree temps we were running in may be the culprit. I do,
however, have plans to take the car to a track event in a couple
weeks, so I need to ensure that I have a healthy clutch in the near
term.

After consultations with some A4 brethren and searching the A4.org
archives, I may be looking at a simple bleed of the system or else a
replacement (gulp) of my clutch master cylinder. As Murphy's Law
would have it, I am just past my warranty (51,000 miles).

In either case, can anyone tell me how do I get access to my clutch
master cylinder on my A4? Has anyone had to bleed the system
themselves?
