Then let me add a second. A 10" wide tire is not well suited to a 6"
wide rim. The tire manufacturers like to see tire size and wheel size within
about an inch of one another. Using a tire this much wider than the wheel
will cause the contact patch to distort when properly inflated. This causes
the center of the tire to bow out towards the road, thus increasing wear in
the center and reducing the contact on the edges.
Also, changing wheel/tire size affects the SHAPE of the contact area,
not the size. Dave's earlier post referring to this on this was correct. It's
the change of shape that causes the different handling characteristics. This
has already been correctly assessed in an earlier post to this discussion.
Disputes with Dave's earlier comments should be taken up directly
with the tire manufacturers since they are the original source of the
information. Or you might also try your state's transportation or highway
department (whichever one gives tests for driver's license), this is often
part of the test for a commercial driver's license.

	After while.
