Oh no think its the fuel pump on my 86 4kq

Greetings,

Just when I thought I was ready to do some maintenance along comes a
show stopping problem. I'm thinking fuel pump. I had totally unrelated
Im sure just taken apart cleaned and reasembled the power mirror
switch. Upon hooking it up it still did not work so I checked all the
fuses. One fuse #12 in the box was almost melted so I replaced it.
Well here's where the fun begain. The car started but had no power,
like it was running on 2 cylenders. This had happened recently but
cleared up after pumping on the gas. This time it did not. I removed
the fuel pump relay #63 marked on top and fiddled with it than
reinserted and all was fine, reved nicely.

But this morning it would not start at all. Advise please.

   * Best way to diagnose
   * How simple to repair myself
   * Problems doing it oneself

If this is real expensive there will be a serious need for a replacement
car. If I can get through this for not too much $ than great and Dan
will get the list donation. I know sounds like bribary and maybe it is.

Just when all was going well,

JJS
