RE: R134 conversion
I guess I didn't read Bob's note closely when it was first posted. Just for the
record, if something is incompressible it isn't a gas, by definition. The only
way air or nitrogen will become incompressible is by supercooling (to something
like -320 deg F at atmospheric pressure for nitrogen, don't remember for air,
but it should be a similar temp) so that they become liquids. Ain't gonna
happen in your A/C system. Even when liquid, they're ever so slightly
compressible, having finite bulk moduli, but are for all practical purposes
incompressible. The nit I've picked doesn't affect the validity of the rest of
the info Bob set forth. And yes, you do need to evacuate the system, although I
always thought that step was primarily to scavenge water and water vapor and
get it the heck out of there. What's your training and knowledge tell you, Avi?
True?
