Re: Audi 200 Sport

Paul,

I thought it was a 20V at first, but then I noticed the 5000 door panels and
then realized that the movie was made a few years before the 20V was
actually introduced. I thought the movie came out in 1989, but either way,
it was a few years before the 20V.

I know Audi was playing around with testing for a more high performance
version of the type 44 and had done some fender flaring (like on the
pedecessor to the SCCA Trans Am cars...the one that set that record at
Talledega in 1987). So, I figured it was a one off show car or specially
built for an Audi or VW exec and used in the film. Hey, who wouldn't want
thier car used in a James Bond flick??? Anyways, that's what I think, but
then again, it could be this elusive 200 Sport!

Then again, the V8 had flared fenders and was introduced much earlier...in
1989. So, Audi had the fenders. All they had to do was slap them on a 200!
I figure it was a special one off factory deal, but that's just what I
THINK. I wonder if anyone actually KNOWS????

Later,
Dan
