re: Recent G-teching

This driver (overweight me) plus the half-filled gas tank would bring the
vehicle weight to just under 3900 lbs. then. That's not including the 3
volumes of Bentley in the trunk--13 lbs I think. :-) Oh, and all those
layers of Meguiar's wax, too! So the 3950 lbs was a pretty good guess, but
yes, a little on the high side. My point was not about the high value of
the measured HP, but rather that (a) the G-tech measurement was at least
pretty reproducible, and (b) it was "close enough" to spec for me to be
able to rule out any serious exhaust blockage. BTW, the weight error
probably wasn't the biggest factor; I bet it was a very slight negative
grade (no it wasn't really a hill). Well, not so big a hill that you'd
notice. I did say I'd repeat things "bidirectionally". :-)

But you're right concerning quickly becoming jaded about our cars'
performance. What's an appropriate expression? "Familiarity Breeds
Cement."? Because after a fairly brief time of ownership it seems someone
surely has loaded up the trunk with a few cement blocks, 'cause the car
_used_ to be soooo fast.
