quattro no-go

i remember posting to the list proposing that the fuel pump fuse was the
best way to disable a quattro if it is being parked for a period of time and
you want to be sure htat only the registered owner gets to drive it away.

the difficulty with this proposal is basically wear and tear on the relay,
being a rather substantial piece of real estate on the backing plate.

i'm wondering about disabling the car by replacing the motronic 5amp fuse
with a previously blown one. the advantages of this system are that the
engine won't start, the fuse looks okay (i.e. no suspicious gaps on the
backing plate), it is considerably easier to implement, and it inflicts less
wear and tear on the electrics.

an alternative would be the 10amp injector/air mass sensor relay (S28).

what do you think?
