Knowing how steaming hot it is in Spain in the summer, short of a
convertible or at least a car with a functional sunroof, I'd say that you
need A/C. But, does A/C system from a 1992 fit on an 88? Well, should
probably be able to use some of the parts, especially if you have the 88.5
or later interior. Might however be better (easier/cheaper) to have someone
to install a generic system or simply go to a junk yard and pick up a system
from an 88.5. But, on the other hand, Audis are not commonplace in Spain so
it can be hard to find a donor...
