HELP! Crazed door locks

I disconnected the battery on the Audi S4 to work on the instrument gauge
cluster.  When I reconnected the battery, the door locks now work in
reverse - they alarm when the doors unlock (door pins move up) and the alarm
dis-engages when I lock the doors.  It's all backwards - what gives?  I
tried re-connecting the battery again, but the problem remains.  Help!  I
need to fix this quickly before my wife finds out.
