4000 Quattro Intake Manifold "Rebuild"

Had poor start up response from Suzanne since before a year ago, and I
have been told time and time again that I had a crack in my intake
manifold. The throttle body is fine, but the intake is crapola.
I aquired a used, dirty-as-hell, non-cracked intake from somewhere, and
now it's time to make it shiny and nice.
Had this bad-boy glass-beaded and now it shines in the sun like a holy
relic, but the glass-beading did a number on the inside, pitting it a bit
and fraying the edges.
SO, to make a long story short, I'm having a machine shop "grind and
shine" the part where the gasket will go, so that it is as flush as
possible, and it's going to be polished inside, so no carbonization forms.
I'm taking this opportunity to do the fated Throttle Body Upgrade. NO,
I'm not paying for the actual Blaufernugen Throttle Body Upgrade, I'm
porting/polishing/machining the edges so that the opening is bigger and a
helluva lot shinier. I'm told this will help a bit, and yes, it looks cool.

Any ideas?

Sorry, but I have no idea if the language was correct in this email, as I
am a complete neophyte.

Thanks for listening,
