Chip-only mods for the 200q20v around the 300hp range aren't great
reliability+stresswise; I run the 265hp stage 1 chip(it's 285 with
the spring for the wastegate, but several people on the 200q20v list
agree it may not be such a hot idea unless the car is in excellent
condition, engine-wise.) Next upgrades will be suspension,
intercooler(hot weather performance is horrible) and possibly some
exhaust work(but I hate the boy-racer looking crap exhaust systems;
the 200q20v is a serious car, not a Honda hatchback.) A half-inch
lowering is also in order, to bring the car down a little(it's very
tall) and make the wheels look like they belong in the wheel wells.
After the engine is thoroughly checked out, I will then consider the
wastegate spring; in the meantime, I might use Chris Miller's
re-tightening trick or buy a new stock spring and replace mine; they
age funny.

150lb=10 hp, if I remember someone's "guesstimate equation" correctly.

I gave an a4 owner a ride once. Her significant other complained to
me soon after, something about "now I have to get a 200q20v!" :)
Probably the four major factors involved in "comparing" a 200q20v to a A4 are:
-suspension(has the 200q20v received new bushings and shocks recently
so the suspension is as "healthy" as a new A4's?)
-body(the a4 is probably much stiffer)
-driver(who is more comfortable in which car?)
-tires(are you equipping the a4 with performance tires and the
200q20v with all seasons? :)
Brandon Hull has it all figured out. 3B engine in a Coupe. Kicks
some serious butt.
