Wow! You just missed the mondo amplified speaker thread. Yes, team door
handle has been there. Watch out for fire, seriously. The internal
speaker amps can short and cause a fire. We also covered fire
extinguisher location, fusible links.... I think crimp splices were in
there too...

(Pop the amp out and look for bad solder joints, though with symptoms
like that I think it's more likely a shorted output transistor. Look for
stupid things too, like a wayward mounting bolt, or bent over speaker
connectors touching eachother.)
