The saga continues the 86 4kq died 1/4 from home

Well Audi fans looks like there was something worse than the fuel pump
relay lurking.  The car died on 95 but restarted a few minutes later
only to die very close to home.  At this point it will not start.
Curious symptoms it sounds as if it is starved for fuel but the fuel
pump is making the usual buzzing noise but there was a strong smell of
gas.  Investigating the gas smell I took the filler cap off and fuel
began pouring out.  Seems as if the F.P. is developing some kind of back
pressure.  Is this possible?  Thoughts?

This might really be the last straw.  Anyone have a good 4kq in the CT
metro NY area?
