My donut spare blew up in the trunk!

Yesterday I decided it was time to rotate the tires in my 4kq and what
do I find when I'm getting the tire iron and jack??  A BLOWN spare!?!? 
I mean not just flat or missing air, but really blown, as in 'exploded'.
With a big hole in it with all the little cords and wires sticking out! 
I knew it had a slow leak and every month or two I pumped it back up to
the rated 60 psi.  Well, no more.  I have to see who besides the dealer
has one of these puny little tires. For those of you driving around with
a 10 yr. or older spare in the trunk, may I suggest you ditch it and put
a new one in before it blows at a more inopportune moment.
