Prolly wouldn't hurt to replace them as they are subjected to a LOT of heat
there, but I think they are probably ok. I wouldn't use Loctite in case you
have to get them off again. Just torque them down to specs.

Also.... Many good pads (i.e. my Ferodos) come with new caliper guide pin
bolts! And, they are the right strength! Very impressive and good to
replace these as I've had them break by overtightening. I really think the
heat gets to these. They need to be 8.1 in strength or something like that.
Maybee 11.7? Can't remember. I've had to drill them out of calipers
before!!!! ;)

Nope. That is why the piston seals go after a few years, but most pads have
a heat shielding built into the back of the pads so it's ok. You can buy
brake pad shims if you want some extra protection.
