... thanks for the reminder Dave! I also wanted to mention a couple
alternatives ...
I don't remember how much they cost, but the "Prestone" "Flush-n-fill" kit
comes with a number of fittings of various sizes. I've used them to splice
a leaking hose to the heater core on the ur-Q as well (those of you with
4kQs or Coupes can attest to how difficult this hose is to replace!). The
thing about these is that all you need is one to get back on the road ...
find one the right size for the heater hoses and use one fitting to "short
circuit" the heater core.
To those folks who have replaced heater valves because they no longer close
fully they can be included with the trunk equipment and used for the same
purpose as the Prestone parts described above ...
