Clicking: Are you using an oil filter that has an anti-drain valve, like
Mann or Mahle (OEM) rather than an el-cheapo like Fram that doesn't (or
it's ineffective if it does)? The oil drains back into the sump from the
hydraulic lifters if you cheese out on the filter. If you are using a good
filter, you've stumped me.

Another topic, my engine is making some clicking noises as if the valves
springs are dying, or can it be something else?  When it sits for some
time without being driven it will make a LOUD clicking noise until the oil
is flowing, and if the oil isn't topped up all the way it clicks for a
while.  What should I lookout for?
