In the MAC11/MAC12/MAC14 cars, of course, you don't need to jumper
anything. Just hook it all up, stick a fuse in the fuseholder on the
fuel pump relay, and switch on the ignition. The on-board diagnostics
run the pump while you put your tools away.
I also prefer to measure system and control pressure with the pump run
this way - I find system pressure measurement with the engine running
quite hard, as the engine very often stalls.
