30v VS. 8v?????

Well last night on the way home from the Orioles baseball game we ran into a
nice red GTI 8v(maybe). We were driving along as usual (~65 MPH) on a long
sweeping right-hander when the guy in the GTI must have looked at the back
of our car, noticed "2.8 Quattro" and decided to gun it around us. Well as
usual my dad decided to show this 16 or so year old exactly who he had
challenged... We pulled up next to him (doing about 80 now), gave him the
thumbs up, and we both shot off... We began pulling away and as we clipped
100 this guy went flying past!!!! I was thinking to myself, how is this
little 8v doing this? My dad got angry at him and kept on gassing it! we
flew right by him with all (four of us) our hands waving goodbye around 110
and then slowed down to a normal 70. He took the next off ramp and the fun
was over.... But what is still puzziling me was that there were no 16v
badges on it!!!!! I know for sure that a stock 8v couldn't have kept up with
us though so I guess it was a unbadged 16v... Sorry for ranting on about
this but this was just about the coolest encounter I've had in my 14 short
years on this planet!
