Re:NOS + Turbo
Nitrous oxide injection can be used with turbocharged engines as long
as you don't let thins go" out of hands".
Power production of your turbo-engine will increase significantly, even
dramatically mainly for two reasons:
- When nitrous oxide and additional gasoline are injected to intake
manifold, the vaporisation of N2O cools the intake charge very
effectively acting like an additional intercooler.
- Nitrous oxide releases additional oxygen during the combustion
process and allows the added gas to be burned effectively.
The total power output of a turbo+nos-engine can be increased to the
point of disaster simply by pumping more nitrous and gasoline in
it.Meltdown is seldom the reason for engine-rebuild in these cases
because, when on nitrous, the combustion process is very much "on the
rich side"and cylinder temperatures often decrease when you press the
button.Usually engines just can't handle that much power production and
the result is engine components scattered around a highway...
Manufactors of N2O systems offer many different systems
for turbo-applications and I highly recommend buying something that has
been tested.
