The Fuchs 15X7 was an option on that car so running 7 inch width is no
problem, what you need to check is the offsets!

i actually have a set of the 15" Fuchs. theyre 6" wide, and run 205-60-15
tires. the offset is ET45.
the offset on the A4 5 spoke 7x16" wheels is ET 45 also. from the factory,
the A4's run 205 55 16's.
i mounted an A4 5 spoke 7x16" ET45 wheel, with the 205 55 16's on my '86 5kT,
and they nearly touch the tie rod ands, because the A4 wheel is one inch
wider than the 6x15" ET 45 Fuchs that were made for the 5kT.
when i say "nearly", i mean just about touching... can't even fit my pinkie
finger between the 205 55 16 tire and the tie rod end. would you think that
this is safe? i dont want to run a gash in my tires....
i called on prices for 205 50 16's - but the difference in pricing between
205 55's, and 205 50's is like $75 MORE a tire!!!!! because 205 55 16 is a
more widely used tire than 205 50 16's...
aaarrrggh !!! ;<)
ps, could you post this to the Q-list, and see what the conventional wisdom
is on this?

trying (it seems in vain) to get the 5 spoke A4 7x16" ET45 alloy wheel to
work safely on my '86 5kT...
