Cooling Fan Resistor Pack: Need info or part

While troubleshooting a transmission noise, the dealer mechanic observed
that my resistor pack must be dead, since my cooling fan was on high speed
at 80 degrees ambient. Anyone know how to determine the condition of the
cooling fan resistor pack? The Bentley is silent on this issue. The only
reference I can find is in the electrical schematics, which tersely observe
that, indeed, they are resistors. My ohm meter doesn't seem to understand
how to deal with the low resistances on mine. Maybe it is kaput, as the man
says. Anyone wish to sell me a working pack? The dealer doesn't have any and
wants $195 for a new one. My local robber baron wrecking yard wants $100
minimum for one.
