Hopefully your engine was showing temp over in the second dot area... Otherwise
you've got other problems, like a stuck high speed fan relay (on your car, under
the dash next to the brown 'after-run' relay).
All the resistor pack is is a high wattage tapped resistor - high speed at the
12V end, medium in the middle, and low connected at the far end. Take a
resistance reading from end to middle and end to end - if either comes up as
'infinite' - its bad. Zero or thereabouts and its good. They don't 'short' - at
least for very long!
Low speed comes on at 2 times - after run or AC on.
