Hi Alex; yes, the signal to noise ratio has decreased lately; lot of newer 
folks on the list.  Sometimes you need to ask a couple times before you get 
the right answer.

My car-related advice is usually the '91 200q20v, since that's what I have; 
that also includes most other type 44's (5000, 100, 200 of similar vintage).  
I used to have a 4kq, so I post info on that as well, often including direct 
replies off-list.  My VW 4-cylinder days are long past....

Haven't used or owned the automatic tranny, so little to no help there, 
sorry.  Once Dan gets the archives searchable again, that would be a good 
resource for you.

The quattro list goes in waves; very technical for a bit, then off on a 
tangent, then grouping together to help out a fellow lister in trouble.  Dan 
is also working on creating car-specific web pages (with help).

Remember the tech day at my house?  We had quite a variety of cars there, and 
everyone was willing to leap in and help anyone else who needed it.
