it might not even be that widely swappable, sort of.

between 82 and 84 I see a change in the hall unit plug style.

also, while this is trivial to deal with, at some point in there the
dist cap with the two higher towers and different ignition wire endings
turns up.  (the coil and cap have pins inside the towers, not just
copper lined holes)

I know this isn't a real answer but I'm trying...
