Seat heater elements

Doyt's seat heater repair post whet my appetite to continue my seat heater
repair. I have the rear element toasty hot, but the seat bottom is cold.
Also think the thermostat is down there, so I really do not have temperature
control.

Stripped back the upholstery, and other than shredding a lot of cushion
foam, I really accomplished nothing. I can see what appears to be the
element cushion, but did not find any wires in there. Only went as far as
the first section in the front. Did I not go far enough?
