Seat Heaters

All this talk about seat heaters has got me wondering: when I received 
my 5kcstq the right front seat back was broken,due, I believe, to a
combination of a small rear end collision and a very large passenger
(the rear bumber has been adjusted slightly). When I dissasembled the
seat back to see if it was repairable (it wasn't) I encountered an
approx 2ft square fabric sandwich with a thin blue wire routed through
it in zig-zag fashion terminaing in a pair of normal 16-gauge wire
leads. Is this the seat heater? If so, how do I turn them on? The car
didn't come with an owner's manual and I have searched in vain for a
likely switch. On a related subject....does the sock monster have a
brother called the owner's manual monster who manages to make all the
owner's manauls in used cars dissapear to an alternate dimension?
