Re: Pilot bearing removal?

A shade tree method:
Find a tight fitting dowel rod or soft metal punch (brass would be best to
avoid damaging the bearing cavity). Fill the bearing with a really thick
grease, like wheel bearing grease. Insert the rod and put a rag around it to
catch the splatter. Smack the rod with a hammer. The hydraulic force should
shift the bearing. Youi may have to do this more than once. This has worked
for me on occasion, but it is not 100% foolproof.
