I had to read the Bosch book last night anyway.

there is a CIS-Motronic, distinguished by the power transistor mounted
to the ignition coil bracket.  One version is regular CIS-E with a
separate ignition control module and another has one control unit doing
all the work.

this is just book larnin' though.
