Recaro's in a Audi 90
An update on my Recaro installation. I finally managed to obtain a pair of
92' GLI recaro's for my Audi 90. I am moving to Las Vegas and needed some
lighter cloth seats (not to mention more supportive). They came with the
original Jetta brackets w/ power height adjust. The only difference on the
passenger side was that I had to extend the outboard rear glide by 2 inches.
The front slide mount was identical. I am still having problems with the
driver's side. I have widened the rear slides as I did on the passenger
side, but as I had a power driver's seat, there is no manual front guide.
The power seat rails bolt directly to the floor. The cars with manual
driver seats have a manual guide welded to the floor. As I can not weld, is
there any way I can fabricate on of these front mounts? I checked the ETKA
cd and found that they did have a factory Recaro seat bracket for the RS2.
I have also called every aftermarket seat manufacturer I know of, and none
of them make a bracket for the 1995 90. If any body has any suggestions on
how I can make a SAFE front mount or where I can get a reasonably priced
aftermarket bracket please let me know. OBTW, the new passenger seat is WAY
COOL. I don't know why Audi never put seats like this in from the factory.
