Note on Bear Notch Rd for those driving up to Mt Washington
Maybe because I'm getting older, or maybe because I have
a child on the way (6 weeks and counting), that I am
going to step upon my soap box and ask the following...
Please use some caution when barnstorming Bear Notch Rd.
Yeah, there are no posted speeds, but it is used by traffic
in both directions, there are scenic viewing areas, there
are hikers accessing trails, and there are bicyclists riding
up and down the road...
BTDT the morning of my wedding two years ago...there's nothing
like climbing a long grade and having cars whip by you at
50+ miles an hour...(prolly 70 +)
There are a number of "blind" corners, which you may take
and then find a moose standing in the middle of the road-
or a bunch of hikers, or cyclist changing a flat.
So, as it used to be said on "Hill St Blues"-
"Let's be careful out there..."
