UrQ A/C power relay gets hot

Hi
Finally converted my 83 UrQ to new R134 freon. Work done by my friends
at Eganton's garage in central New Jersey. It works very well and at the
central vent it cools down to 50 degrees F when it is 85-90 outside.
Problem however is in that A/C power relay in the glove compartment gets
very hot. When I purchased this car six years ago the AC didn't work and
this relay was burned up. I got replacement that was metal on outside
and when we repaired the AC it works fine. This relay however gets very
hot. Upon close examination I notices that some wires also appear heat
damaged. I keep glove compartment open when I drive w/ A/C on, but there
must be a better way. I wonder if wire connections are inadequate or may
be I need to use 40 amp relay in place of 25 amp called for by the
manual.
Any help will be appreciated
