The last time I asked the question, the answer seems to be that there's
sacrificial agent that prevents break down of aluminum. But when this
agent is gone, then the protection is gone -- or so the story goes. That
means you have to stick with flush schedule very carefully.
If you want something that's phosphate-free, then look for packages that
explicately states it.
