A/C Recirc Air Flap

On a really hot day, my A/C blows warm air when I accelerate hard. I am
assuming the vacuum driven recirculating air flap is losing vacuum on the
hard acceleration, allowing fresh warm air to flow through. Anyone know
where the vacuum loss may be originating from? Is my theory incorrect?

My engine has been running much better since I tightened down the valve
cover. Was losing oil through the gasket, but not anymore. Obviously that
was the source of a nagging vacuum leak. Still getting seepage at the pan
gasket, which I tried to tighten as well. A few of the bolts are rounded
off, leading me to believe the PO had dealt with this one (incorrectly of
course). I always watch the upshift indicator as a gauge of vacuum system
integrity. Still acts a little funky, but unchanged by the VCG tightening.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
