My solution is simple for those with not-too-easy access:
Crawl under your Audi and look for the drain hose (on my '90 80, its near the 
wheel well). Take an air hose and blow it out backwards! You may get some 
water in the face, but it works. In our Hawaii climate, the foam inside the 
AC system deteriorates rapidly and plugs everything up. Many cars require 
near total dismantling to access the A/C stuff...
