RE: astronaut position/ junkyard
Unfortunately, I am too tall for the astronaut position in almost any car
(including Audi's ) and I have to kinda lay out the door to do anything
under the dash. Haven't gotten around to crawling under there, but I bet
that circuit breaker is bad, I'll go get one from the junkyard down the
street
I'm sure your lack of cars in the junkyard has to do with your being in the
rust belt. I supplement my earnings pulling perfectly good cars and parts
out of junkyards and selling them (in fact I got my 86 Coupe GT Anniversary
Coupe from one in Virginia, and drove it home 200 miles the night I bought
it, and it ran for 2 years before I traded it for the laptop I am writing
this on now, and got my last 87 4KCS from there, just had a bad
distributor), also the junkyard down the street just got a 85 4KS 150K
miles, that runs great, paint is shot (but no rust or dents), and one door
handle is broke (but he has a another for it in another car in his yard),
and the AC even works; he'll give it to me for $US 550. If I can scrounge
that up I think I'll go get it. (It probably isn't going anywhere)
BTW, the people I got my 4KCSQ from are an American/British (alphabetical)
couple, and they were using the proceeds of the 4KCSQ purchase to ship
their 83 Coupe GT to England where they will live for a couple of years.
It is a left-hand drive red Coupe GT in perfect condition. If you see
them, give them a wave for me.
