Right, and you're comparing a 1987 model to a 1990 model. Your car
is substantially older.
Ever since the 1992 model year, Audi's reliability ratings have gone
through the roof. A 1992/93 90 series car would be perfect for your
friend; lots of them out there for sale, so there's a big selection,
and they're very reliable; the 92's and 93's should be old enough
that they won't be rediculously expensive; if he's got more money, he
can look for a newer model. A same-vintage Coupe if he wants one,
but these are fairly rare(and expensive, I would imagine.)
