['93 90S] brief power loss after starting
Hello Listers,
The '93 90S (2.8L V6) I recently bought suffers from a power loss
shortly after starting the car and not noticeable any other time.
If the car has been sitting for at least 30 minutes or so, the engine
runs fine for about 30-60 seconds, then I lose power for about 10-15 seconds
after which it runs fine. This happens every time I start up.
It feels like fuel starvation, and I get through it by backing off the
throttle and letting it cough and burble until it cleans out. It doesn't
stall, and I can also mash the throttle during the coughing and get
a short burst of full power, then back to coughing. This behavior gets
a little tricky in traffic, so I often sit in the driveway for a while
and let it get through this rough period before starting off.
I haven't ordered my shop manuals yet from Dyment Publications so I have
no clue as to number of fuel pumps or filters on this car. I just had
my injectors replaced under the recall program with no change in this behavior.
Anybody have any suggestions? Does this sound like a pump or filter
problem? A sensor problem?
Thanks,
Ed Skladany
