Well, my 1993 S4 seems to have been stricken with the dreaded 
transmission whine.  Dealer tells me 6K or more to get a rebuilt 
trany from Audi.

Looked through the info on the S-cars site and noted that there 
was a survey done sometime ago.

Does anyone have any real world experience with Audi and this 
situation, or to put it another way has anyone had any luck getting 
Audi to help with the cost of repair once the car is out of warranty?
