RE: Radio antenna

Is yours the power antenna?  On my 4Kcsq, reception suddenly took a nose 
dive, But after hitting bumps, it would intermittantly come back in and 
out.  I bent the antenna (the power feature already didn't work, motor just 
spun), and if in just the right spot, reception would be good.  I swore to 
the car if it made it through the trip I was taking (and I can't stand 
driving without a radio) I would see about replacing the antenna the next 
day.  So I took apart the antenna (damn they are hard to get out if they 
won't go down, especially on a quattro), but I got mine out and the one 
from the parts car the junkyard keeps for me up the street (I'm the only 4K 
owner I know that uses the junkyard) in my car, and guess what, power 
didn't work, and the reception was still poor.  Well I bent the newer 
antenna again, and lo and behold it held reception.  It has been a week 
now, and the radio still works, so I keep my fingers crossed until a power 
one that works comes in the junkyard.  Same power antenna is used in 80's 
and 200's you just swivel is around to fit either car.
