'96 a6 auto transmission question

hi qlisters,
i'm considering purchasing a '96 A6 automatic with 60,000k on it.  Since the 
car is in excellent shape, my only concern is about at what mileage the 
transmission will need an overhaul/rebuilt.  If any owners are out there with 
this car or similar model/age, can you let me know at what mileage the 
transmission needed work and approx what this cost you? or any other problems 
to consider?  thank in advance.
